Outreach Efforts
OLN Learning Community Members said that they effectively communicated the value of Learning Communities to others by:
- Get on the agenda of the Board of Trustees
- Hold a Success Fair in a public venue, show by demonstrating it
- Provide incentives to participate
- Get buy-in from opinion leaders
- Go to department meetings
- Create websites, blogs, wikis, etc.
- Present at new faculty orientation or offer seminars
- Mentoring others
- Contribute to a digital repository
- Use a portfolio as a showcase: get actual student work published so that others can see how the work in the LC is affecting student success
