Facilitation and Leadership

OLN Learning Community members said that a LC leader should be:
  • A visionary who is practical and savvy in traveling the path to accomplishing goals.
  • Someone who understands the mission of the institution.
  • Has the ability to involve constituents and get buy-in.
  • Has the ability to generate new ideas from the contributions of the community.
  • A good communicator that can both listen and articulate.
  • Has the ability to understand complex discourse from varied constituencies.
  • Is organized.
  • Has the ability to identify key players.

NOAA Coastal Service Center produced this module
that helps to enhance one's ability to design, lead, or participate in a collaborative process.
